ESTIV 2008
Website of the the Congress ESTIV2008, the 15th International Congress on In Vitro Toxicology which will be held in a unique environment in the Stockholm archipelago, Sweden, September 25-28, 2008. The congress is a joint venture organised by ESTIV (European Society of Toxicology In Vitro), SSCT (Scandinavian Society for Cell Toxicology) and Expertrådet ECB Environmental Competence Ltd.

European Society for Toxicology In Vitro
ESTIV is a society that aims to promote in vitro toxicology, both scientifically and educationally, in all countries of Europe. This web site will give information on the activities of ESTIV in the field of in vitro toxicology and of alternatives to animal experimentation.

European Consensus-Platform for Alternatives
ECOPA represents the pan-European umbrella organisation of national consensus platforms on alternatives consisting of those parties interested in fostering research, development and implementation of alternatives to animal experiments. These four parties are animal welfare organisations, industries, governmental institutions and academia. e c o p a thereby exhibits a new type of non-governmental organisation combining the parties involved in an area of interest being diverse in their views and nature, but agreeing to find a consensus.

National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research
The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) provides a UK focus for the promotion, development and implementation of the 3Rs in animal research. The Centre brings together stakeholders in the 3Rs in government, academia, industry and animal welfare organisations to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas, and the translation of research findings into practice that will benefit both animals and science.

The web site of the Utrecht Department of Laboratory Animal Science. It presents information on international courses and contains several links to sites relevant for the field of laboratory animal science, animal alternatives, welfare and ethics.
 

Centers for Animal Alternatives
ZEBET - Centre for Documentation and Evaluation of Alternatives to Animal Experiments
The goal of this scientific institution is to bring about the replacement particularly of legally prescribed animal experiments with alternative test methods, to reduce the number of test animals to the absolutely necessary level and to alleviate the pain and suffering of animals used in experiments. ZEBET is responsible for documenting alternatives to animal experiment, for assessing them and for recommending or also pushing through their recognition both nationally and internationally.

Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT)
The CAAT site provides information about programs at the 18-year-old academic center, which is part of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Full-text of the  Center's technical reports, newsletters, and other publications are available there, as well as details about the Center's history, awards, grant application process,   and current activities.
